Austria and Poland will play their last qualifying chances. Austria seems to be the weakest team at Euro and honestly I can’t see them beating Poland.
Poland didn’t played bad against Germany but they were clearly a class below the germans. I expect to see a good match where both of the teams will give their 100% in order to obtain the victory.
Our tip for Austria – Poland is x2 - also “under 2,5″ seems to be pretty reasonable.

Croatia and Germany, two of the strongest teams on the continent will meet in the third match of Group B. Both of the teams managed to win their first matches and another victory for any of them would mean the qualification for the knock out stages.
The croats haven’t played much football against Austria but they managed to win somehow. However the situation will be pretty different when they will play against Germany.
Germany is one of the most impressive teams so far and they might stand a chance to go all they way to the final. They played an entertaining football, fast and creative, as I haven’t seen for long time in their matches.

Switzerland and Turkey lost their first matches so this might be their last chance to qualify for QF’s. Both teams played some quality football so far, Switzerland missed some good opportunities agains Czech Republic and also lost Alexander Frei, their main man, while Turkey played with a lot of courage against Portugal but they never looked like having any chance in that match.
A draw won’t help any of the teams and I think we will see a tough match where both of the teams will atack in order to win and get the 3 points.
Our tip for Switzerland vs Turkey is 1x – I think Switzerland has a small advantage by playing in front of their own supporters and if Emre won’t play for the turks I can’t see them winning.

The third match of Group A brings face to face two excellent teams. Portugall played fantastic their first match against Turkey while Czech Republic struggled a bit when they played the co-hosts, Switzerland.
I expect a tough match with Portugal having the first chance. However we shouldn’t underestimate the czechs.
Our tip for Czech Republic – Portugal is x2 - we are going the safe route this time. I don’t think the czechs have enough class to bet Portugal, that’s why I believe x2 might be a sort of safe bet.

The Euro 2004 winners, Greece will play Sweden in the second match of Group D. Even if they were the european champions at that time I was pretty unimpressed by their ultra-defensive and somehow ugly football. I also felt sorry for Portugal who played a fast and creative football but they were unlucky.
However Greece had an excellent qualifying campaign finishing top of their group, some seven points ahead Turkey. I expect them to play the same type of football they used to play four years ago, this time without a happy end…
Sweden is a strong team as they have been for the past 15 years or so. Quality players and good team work. They also have a good potential to reach the quarterfinals. I expect the match to be pretty close with both of the teams paying atention to defense more than atacking. I also expect a lot of work and effort from both of them without playing an entertaining match.
Our tip for Greece – Sweden is x2 – draw or Sweden win.

Spain and Russia will meet for the Group D opening match. Spain is one of the strongest teams in Europe at the moment, with so many top quality players. They did pretty well in their qualifying campaign and I think they will also do well in the Group D.
Russia was lucky, very lucky to qualify after they lost the last match against Israel. Thanks to Croatia who beat England at Wembley the russians managed to get the second place in their qualifying group. It is also the youngest team in the competition and this might be a slightly minus as the players have very little or no experience playing these sort of tournaments.
Our tip for Spain – Russia is 1, victory for Spain.

In the second match of Group C, Holland will meet the World Champions, Italy. As I have said in my previous post, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to bet on Group C matches unless he likes adrenaline. This match can stand for a final anytime and anywhere, both of the teams have top quality players, able to make the difference.
This is the match where the dutch total football concept meets the conservative italian style. Italy comes from a pretty fair qualifying campaign while Holland had a not so successful one. Still the dutch have a mature and solid team capable to go all the way to the finals.
Our tip for Netherlands – Italy is 1x , most probably a draw. You may also want to play “under 2,5″ as I don’t think there will be many goals.

Here we go…Group C, “The Group of Death” – the most interesting group of this tournament and at the same time the most risky and difficult to bet on.
Romania and France will start the show, two latin countries with a pretty similar style of play. France has a lot of top quality individualities while Romania is stronger as a team. We will see if the individual class of the french players will make the difference or who knows…perhaps the omogenity and unity of the romanians.
France comes after a not so brilliant qualifying campaign while Romania did their best to finish top of their group ahead of Netherlands. As I said both of the teams play a pretty similar football, fast and creative – the latin style.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend anyone to place a bet on any of the Group C matches unless he likes adrenaline. All four teams are pretty close and everything will be decided by the matchday form of the players.
Our tip for Romania – France is x2 .
Normally the experience of the french players should be a plus but you’ll never know. Close match, once again – not recommended for betting. Perhaps “under 2,5″ will be the best way to bet.

As I have predicted, Germany won against Poland without many problems. The poles never seem dangerous while the germans controlled the game.
The irony is that both of the goals has been scored by Lukas Podolski which is polish, naturalized german and plays for Germany. Poor guy, never had the chance to cheer for his goals, respecting Poland and the polish supporters.
Germany played well and I was pretty surprised to see that. They used to start the final tournaments pretty slow in the past but today was a different story. Poland was never in the game, perhaps a bit of disappointment for their fans, their style was pretty predictable and this should be a reason to worry about the match with Croatia.

Croatia took early control in the 4th minute when Luka Modric scored from penalty. It was an interesting match with Austria fighting for the equaliser. Unfortunately for them the strong and experienced croat defence never gave them a clear chance to score even if they missed a few opportunities.
Perhaps a draw was the right result here . The croats never looked like the team who defeated England twice and finished top of their qualifying group playing for the result more than for spectacle, reputation or for their fans.
This was the third right tip for us maintaining our 100% correct euro predictions record.
