Watch football on PC

The official UEFA website for the UEFA European Championship, Euro2008.com has launched its pay-per-view video service for the final tournament. Michel Platini opened the UEFA Euro 2008 International Broadcast Centre in Austria and talked about the key role television has in promoting the sport.

The on-demand video service it is available on video.uefa.com and will start broadcasting on 7th of June with the first Euro match, Switzerland vs. Czech Republic.

There are several premium options starting at 1.99 euros per each match. The video service will be live even after the Euro 2008 is finished, broadcasting Champions League, UEFA Cup and many other events organised by UEFA. Among other interesting packages are the Euro2008 Pass at 19.99 euros or the Annual Pass at 39.99 euros. Check the video.uefa.com website for more details.

David Farrelly, the head of content at UEFA Media Technologies said about the new service: “”We are in a unique position to offer fans on the web the best quality product that usually only TV can offer, as we benefit from mobility, immediacy and additional distribution channels. We think our offering will be appreciated by the fans of UEFA EURO 2008™ in Europe and beyond.”

Spain Kit

Spain finished top of their qualifying group ahead of Sweden, Northern Ireland and Denmark. This is one of the teams that developed so much in the last few years and I see them having some great matches at Euro 2008.

Turkey Kit

Turkey had a rather modest qualifying campaign finishing on the second place in Group C, 7 points behind Greece and only 1 point ahead Norway.

Russia Kit

The russians were lucky, very lucky to qualify for Euro. After their dissapointing match in Israel when they’ve lost. They should thank Croatia for beating England at Wembley this way securing the second place for Russia.

They are part of Group D together with the ex euro winners Greece, Sweden and Spain. A though group for the russians but this way they will have to prove the quality of their young squad.

France Kit

France finished second their qualifying group 3 points behind Italy and 2 points ahead Scotland. I wouldn’t say they had a great qualifying campaign being quite lucky to be at Euro.

Still France is a football super power and they have their chances to go through the group of death where they will have to play against Italy, Holland and Romania.
