If Germany was favourite for bookies to win the Euro 2008, just before the tournaments started, we can’t say the same thing for Spain. Strong teams like Italy, France, Croatia, Portugal, Netherlands which had their chances, are at home already and they will watch the final from TV.
Spain always had a pretty good team but for some reason they failed to reach the final stages of such tournaments in the last quite a few years. They now have a very strong team, players from the top club teams in Europe and a very productive attacking mentality.
On the other hand Germany is a strong team, they always been some sort of favourites at any tournament they participate. Players like Ballack, Podolski or Klose can always make they difference on the pitch.
I expect a beautiful match, close enough as I believe none of the teams will assume strong attacking responsabilities at the begining. It is a difficult match to bet on, probably the best option would be to bet on handicap or “under”/”over” – goals scored. I would like to think the match will be decided in extra time or perhaps at penalties but you’ll never know what to expect from a final!

Germany and Turkey will meet in the first Euro 2008 semifinal. I always said the germans win even when they play crap but when they get a good match I can’t see any team able to beat them. Turkey is one of the Euro surprises so far, they did very well and I’m sure many people wouldn’t expect them to play in the SF’s. I really enjoyed watching their football.
Unfortunately for Turkey they have quite a lot of injured players and that would make their life even harder against the germans. I expect a good game from both teams but honestly I don’t think Turkey will manage to win due to their lack of experience at this level and also due to their players shortage.
Our tip for Germany – Turkey is 1

Half of the teams are going home already and what’s left is just the “creme de la creme” of Europe. There will be no easy matches from now on…any of the teams left having their chances to go through
Portugal and Germany will meet in the first quarterfinal match. The germans qualified from the second place of Group B while Portugal won Group A. It should be a great match, both of the teams having so many top quality players. A little plus for Portugal perhaps which is a more creative squad.
Our tip for Portugal – Germany is 1

Austria meet Germany in a decisive match for quarterfinals. The germans need to win in order to cumulate 6 points while Austria is still dreaming. If they beat Germany and Croatia will win or draw against Poland then Austria goes through.
Frankly speaking if the referees won’t help Austria as they did with the penalty against Poland, I can’t see them having any chances with the german football machine. I’ll still go for Germany to win, hoping that’s going to be a “clean” match.

Croatia and Germany, two of the strongest teams on the continent will meet in the third match of Group B. Both of the teams managed to win their first matches and another victory for any of them would mean the qualification for the knock out stages.
The croats haven’t played much football against Austria but they managed to win somehow. However the situation will be pretty different when they will play against Germany.
Germany is one of the most impressive teams so far and they might stand a chance to go all they way to the final. They played an entertaining football, fast and creative, as I haven’t seen for long time in their matches.
Our tip for Croatia – Germany is x2

As I have predicted, Germany won against Poland without many problems. The poles never seem dangerous while the germans controlled the game.
The irony is that both of the goals has been scored by Lukas Podolski which is polish, naturalized german and plays for Germany. Poor guy, never had the chance to cheer for his goals, respecting Poland and the polish supporters.
Germany played well and I was pretty surprised to see that. They used to start the final tournaments pretty slow in the past but today was a different story. Poland was never in the game, perhaps a bit of disappointment for their fans, their style was pretty predictable and this should be a reason to worry about the match with Croatia.
